		Home About Us Contact Us Qualifications Certifications Lab Services Location Employment	Qualifications - Zalco is licensed as a water and hazardous waste analysis laboratory by the California State Department of Health Services, (See attachments for certificate.) Zalco participates in semi-annual Performance Evaluations (PE) round-robin samples sponsored by the US EPA. Zalco responds promptly and personally to your needs. Zalco maintains a fully equipped analytical laboratory, which can qualitatively and quantitatively identify environmental contaminants in a variety of matrices. The analyses are performed utilizing sophisticated instrumental procedures as well as classical chemistry methods. We have a wide variety of major analytical instrumentation, please see our Lab Services menu. Our personnel are proficient in many different methodologies, including EPA, ASTM, AOAC and other standardized procedures. Analyses are performed on water, wastewater, hazardous waste, sludge, oils, natural gas, soils and other types of matrices. In addition to providing analytical data, we interpret data for clients, pointing out its significance relative to an environmental regulation of health impact. Zalco stresses an uncompromising commitment to quality and the adherence to a strong quality assurance program. The quality assurance program is maintained and documented daily by the staff. Our field service personnel and department supervisors have current OSHA 40-hour safety training. They are certified to use supplied-air respirators and to collect samples in confined spaces. Sample site safety plans are used to ensure the client that proper safety measures are in place prior to the collection of samples. All required personal protective gear is available, and our employees have many years of experience working safely in hazardous concentrations of Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) and flammable petroleum vapors. Personnel are able to sample lead-based paint films in safety. Zalco Laboratories, Inc., maintains an advanced Laboratory Information Management System (OMEGA LIMS) for complete tracking of samples from log-in to final reporting. Automation reporting has been a part of Zalco since our start-up in 1979 and, we are experienced in the generating client-deliverable reports as well as Electronic Data Deliverables. Archival copies of finished reports are maintained for periods of time as specified by company policy and legal requirements. Provision to transfer paper copies to microfilm or permanent optical disk formats will be determined as our clients' needs for retrievable and computer-readable storage are defined. We have the most recent version of the State of California "Write-On" drinking water program, which allows for the direct transfer of data to the State. We can provide custom data packages as well as Zalco Laboratories is a full-service analytical and consulting service.
